Who needs to file a tax return?

Last year a whopping 10.2 million personal tax returns were filed with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) by the 31 January deadline, and whilst the Government likes to talk about taking people out of ‘self-assessment’ the number of returns filed each year has been steadily increasing.

If you have not filed a tax return before, but think you need to complete one for the year ended 5 April 2015, then you need to register to file a return by 5 October 2015.

Are you a time waster?

Time is weird concept in my opinion. When did it start and when will it end? Nobody really knows but we, being mere mortals, do have a finite amount of time available, in fact 86,400 seconds every day!

Automation has given us much more time to do other stuff. We can pretty much make a phone call whenever and wherever we want to, subject to getting a signal I hear you say!

I remember, when I was a youngster, my mother spending hours of her week doing the shopping, visiting the baker, butcher, grocer, green-grocer etc.
