Change of scenery for trainee accountant

10th February 2010
A trainee accountant from Fakenham is swapping a desk for the great outdoors as she heads to work with lions in Africa!

Chloe Keeley, based at Larking Gowen’s office on Sculthorpe Road, is about to travel to Zimbabwe for a month to become a volunteer at Antelope Park - a lion rehabilitation centre.

Having just completed her AAT exams, Chloe decided the time was right for her to take a break from studying and do something very different. A lifelong love of big cats led her to carry out research on the internet - she quickly found ‘African Impact’ and decided it was right for her.

“Now I’ve made the decision I cannot wait to go,” said Chloe. “Soon I will be settling down to more studying to be a fully qualified accountant, so this seems the ideal time to go for it! All my family, friends and Larking Gowen have been very supportive.

“It will also give me independence as I will be travelling on my own and have no idea who I will be meeting, or exactly what I will have to do; only that I will be helping lion cubs prepare for a life in the wild.”

David Missen, a partner with Larking Gowen in Fakenham, added, “Chloe has worked very hard for her exams and we are delighted to support her journey of a lifetime. I am sure she will have a fantastic time and learn a lot and we all look forward to hearing about her adventures when she returns.”
