Post-lockdown success stories – have you got everything covered?
Tuesday, 29 June 2021
The past year has been tough for everyone, particularly for those in the hospitality sector, but there is some positivity amongst the turmoil.
It’s encouraging to see all the new businesses which have adapted to the restrictions we’ve faced. Many businesses who we hadn’t heard of a year ago are now ‘liked’ by thousands of followers on social media and have become people’s favourite new foody treat.
From burger vans, brownies by post and pop-up stalls to outdoor food markets, these have all taken a new share of the post-COVID ‘pie’, and there’s no doubt these businesses are growing.
In the early stages of a business, and particularly one showing quick growth, it’s vital that all bases are covered to protect the business’s future and make sure you haven’t missed anything when it comes to HMRC.
We know time is precious, especially when running your new business, so we’ve put together a summary below of some of the things to think about.
What are some of the things you should be considering?
- Profit extraction and remuneration
- Cashflow and potential funding
- VAT registration – breached threshold, right scheme for your business
- Cloud accounting software
- Making Tax Digital
- Strategy going forward
- Growth plans
- Maintaining sales once all restrictions are lifted
- Compliance with all the taxes
