LG Corporate Finance is delighted to announce that its manager, Jack Minns, has achieved the Corporate Finance Diploma. The team, who are specialists in helping clients buy, sell, value and fund SME businesses, forms part of East Anglia based firm of chartered accountants, MHA Larking Gowen.
Launched in 2012, the diploma is the only specialist corporate finance qualification in the UK, equivalent to a Level 6 qualification on the UK National Qualifications Framework. Issued by ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and the CISI (Charted Institute for Securities and Investment), the qualification is recognised around the world and establishes a high level of expertise across international markets. It is designed with a focus on the commercial, practical and technical skills demanded by major corporate and financial clients and investors.
Jack was one of only three other students across the UK to achieve a distinction in the initial paper focusing on techniques and theory in June 2016. He went on to achieve a merit in the second paper on strategy and advice in December 2016.
After receiving the good news, Jack commented, “I am delighted to have completed my Corporate Finance Diploma exam, and was particularly proud of being one of only three students to pass the Corporate Finance Techniques and Theory exam with distinction. I have been extremely well supported by MHA Larking Gowen throughout my study and I am grateful for their backing and faith in me.”
Jack joined MHA Larking Gowen in April 2013 as a Corporate Finance Executive and was promoted to Manager in April 2016.
James Lay, LG Corporate Finance Partner, said, “With 500 hours of study and two successful exams over 12 months, as well as excelling in his day-to-day client-facing duties, Jack should be very proud of his achievements. His commitment to this qualification has been outstanding.
“LG Corporate Finance has five full time specialists within its team. With Jack’s recent exam success, three members now hold the much sought after Corporate Finance qualification. With a wealth of expert knowledge and experience within the team, clients can be assured they are receiving the very best advice at competitive rates. It also further demonstrates the firm’s commitment to training and investing in its people.”
David Petrie, Head of Corporate Finance at ICAEW, said, “Jack should be congratulated on passing the ICAEW’s prestigious Corporate Finance Diploma examinations. Holders of the ICAEW/CISI Diploma in Corporate Finance should be fully up to speed on everything from selling a family business to floating a large multinational on the London Stock Exchange.”
