Bitesize Brexit - Agricultural Focus with Savills
Monday, 21 December 2020
With farming entering a new era, a key part of farming is the land itself. It's a valuable commodity and has seen a great deal of growth since the early 2000s, outperforming gold and the markets on capital return. However, with Brexit around the corner and land area based subsidies beginning to be reduced from 2021, values could be impacted. Values obtained will impact farmers in the future as to the possible tax changes being discussed by the OTS and the APPG, including capital tax and inheritance tax, and speculate as to what levels of taxes that could arise, in addition to commercial thoughts on a changing face of agriculture to a more collaboration based industry.
Join experts Chris Scargill, Laurie Hill and special guest Tom Parish, Head of Rural at Savills in Norfolk, to discuss and reflect on this future era of farming bringing their own thoughts on the market, land price, taxes and much more.
