MHA Larking Gowen sponsors Flight for Youth campaign

MHA Larking Gowen is proud to support Norwich-based charity, The Benjamin Foundation, with its Flight for Youth campaign. The charity is celebrating 25 years helping young people, in Norfolk and Suffolk, facing homelessness and other challenges.

To mark this milestone, the Benjamin Foundation commissioned 25,000 ceramic butterflies, each one hand-glazed in the charity’s colours. The 10” butterflies, based on the charity’s well-known logo, will be used to create two stunning art installations on public display during July, August and the first week of September, at The Assembly House in Norwich, and Holkham Hall, on the North Norfolk coast.

“As a regional firm, we like to support charities whose contribution makes an impact in our community. The Benjamin Foundation is a fantastic charity,” says Jon Woolston, Managing Partner at MHA Larking Gowen. “It offers highly effective support for vulnerable young people and families who face challenges from homelessness to a lack of opportunity for employment or education.”

The Benjamin Foundation was set up in 1994 by Richard Draper and his wife Vanessa in memory of their son Ben, who died at the age of 17. Since then, the charity has helped thousands of young people throughout Norfolk, and more recently in Suffolk, through its furniture store, shops and events. The ceramic butterflies are being offered for sale to the public to raise money during the charity’s anniversary year.

“The butterflies will provide a stunning talking point in Norfolk this summer, and give a boost to their fundraising,” Jon Woolston concludes. “The support and interventions of the Benjamin Foundation have made a genuine difference to the lives of so many young people and we are very proud to be associated with it.”
