Biography

Laurie joined the firm in April 2019 and was appointed as a Partner in 2023. He focuses his time advising agricultural businesses, landed estates, and owner-managed businesses across the East of England. Known for his practical, forward‑thinking approach, Laurie helps clients navigate the complex interplay of tax, business structure, succession planning, and long‑term strategy within family‑run and multi‑generational operations.

With extensive experience across farming partnerships, diversified rural businesses, trusts, and property‑based enterprises, Laurie combines deep technical knowledge with a strong understanding of the realities of modern agriculture and operating an owner managed business. He regularly advises on inheritance tax and succession planning, capital taxes, SDLT, partnership matters, and the commercial challenges facing family businesses.

Laurie is also closely involved in helping clients develop resilient business models whether through diversification, improved financial reporting, or strategic investment planning. He is known for building strong, long‑term client relationships and providing clear, commercially‑focused advice that supports decision‑making across generations.

He is also a Trustee & Hon. Finance Director for the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association.
