EACH receive donation thanks to Larking Gowen fundraising efforts
Julie Grimmer proudly presented a giant cheque to the value of £5,695 to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) from money raised by our people at the Epic Night out, in October last year.
There were around 400 guests who attended on the night, with fundraising activities including a raffle and games. The amount was increased with further donations from the team in the run up to Christmas.
Presenting the cheque at The Nook hospice, near Norwich, Julie Grimmer said: "I am delighted to be here today to represent the whole Larking Gowen team responsible for the fundraising for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. As a business, we remain committed to East Anglia; it is a great pleasure to be able to make a small contribution towards the vital work supporting families and the care of children and young people EACH continues to provide across the region.”
"A big thank you to everyone for their donations and to those attending our annual party for their generous contributions."
Billie Nugent, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at EACH said “Larking Gowen’s incredible donation of £5,695, could pay for almost 240 hours of either music or art therapy. Every child and family at EACH is offered a care plan tailored to their needs with a different set of components from the services we offer. This could include music and art therapy as part of our emotional and mental health interventions, or as a wellbeing activity or event. As well as the lead child, these can also be offered to siblings, parents and other family members who may need our support. Our music therapists use musical improvisation informed by therapeutic theories to engage, reach out and support each person, whatever their ability, difficulties, or diagnosis. Music therapy provides a means of interaction, communication, and self-expression through music, when words are not possible or are inadequate.”
