Larking Gowen announces new Partner promotion

We're pleased to announce the promotion of Audit Director, James Nichols, to Partner, effective from Wednesday, 1 April 2026.

James joined the firm’s Corporate Audit & Advisory team in June 2020, based in the Ipswich office.

Charlie Savory, Head of Corporate, said: “James has been an integral part of the corporate division and has played a key role in its growth across Suffolk and Essex. He’ll now lead the expansion of our audit and advisory services from our Colchester office over the coming months.”

Originally from Felixstowe, James now lives in Ipswich with his wife, Elizabeth. He’s a keen golfer and a lifelong supporter of Ipswich Town FC.

“Becoming a Partner at Larking Gowen has been a personal goal since I joined in 2020,” said James. “I’m incredibly proud and excited to take this next step from 1 April. I’m looking forward to continuing to support the growth and development of our talented people and strengthening our client relationships across Suffolk and Essex as we grow our regional presence.”
