Larking Gowen kicks-off support for Cancer charity with special Canaries legends match at Fakenham
Big C Cancer Charity is thrilled to announce its upcoming Charity Football Match, set to take place on Sunday 18 May, at Fakenham Town Football Club, thanks to the support of accountants Larking Gowen.
The Big C XI team featuring ex-Norwich City Football players including Wes Hoolahan, Simeon Jackson and Simon Lappin, led by captain Adam Dury will take on Help Delete Cancer, a non-profit organisation that raises awareness around cancer, and helps raise funds where needed.
The family friendly event, which is now in its second year, is proudly sponsored by Larking Gowen Accountants, a leading firm with offices in Fakenham and across Norfolk. It promises a day filled with fun, football, and family activities. Attendees can enjoy penalty shoot-outs, a crossbar challenge, face painting, charity stalls, a raffle, and refreshments.
“We’re proud to support Big C Cancer Charity and their fantastic work across Norfolk” said John Atkins, Partner at Larking Gowen “Events like this bring communities together for a great cause, and we’re delighted to be part of something that makes a real difference.”
The Big C team will be wearing a unique shirt for the match, which has been specially designed for the occasion and the sleeves have been kindly sponsored by CIM Signs & Graphics.
Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite, with seats allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets will also be available on the day at a slightly higher price. The event is suitable for all ages, with children under 14 required to be accompanied by an adult. Gates will open at 10:30 am, with the match kicking off at 12noon.
Big C Chief Executive, Karen Vincent said: “We are so grateful to all the players for giving up their time, and to Larking Gowen Accountants for their generous sponsorship and support, enabling us to host the football match. Big C is dedicated to supporting local people affected by cancer in Norfolk, and this event is a fantastic opportunity to raise vital funds and make a difference in the local community.”
